New Leadership Consultants Hit the Road
Updates from Lexington
The following four brothers joined the Headquarters staff team this past summer and are already leaving their mark as they hit the road this fall semester to begin their tenure of service.
Jonah Mackay (Washington and Lee)
Jonah joined the General Fraternity staff in June 2017. He graduated from Washington and Lee University with a degree in Economics and a minor in Poverty and Human Capability Studies.
During his time in the Lambda Chapter, Jonah served as Commander, Social Chairman, and was involved in numerous committees. Outside of Sigma Nu, he was President of the Campus Kitchen at Washington and Lee, the Director of Domestic Development for the Generals Development Initiative, a Leading Edge trip leader, and a Bonner Scholar.
Born and raised around Albany, New York, Jonah enjoys cooking, travelling, watching soccer, and maintaining an active lifestyle. He is an avid fan of both music and documentaries. After his time on staff, Jonah intends to pursue an MBA or start his own business.
Ricardo Silva (Cal State Los Angeles)
Richie joined the General Fraternity staff in June 2017. He graduated from California State University, Los Angeles in December 2016 with degrees in marketing management and music, as well as a minor in economics.
During his time in the Eta Phi Chapter, Richie served as Lt. Commander, Recorder, Community Service & Philanthropy Chairman, Sentinel, and Reporter. He also served on his chapter’s judicial board and was Vice President of Programs for IFC. He received acknowledgement from CSULA for his time as Philanthropy Chairman and was awarded the Greek Service Award.
Richie was born and raised in the small border town of El Centro, CA. He enjoys to listen and play many genres of music and to travel. After his time on staff, Richie hopes to continue working in higher education and eventually earn a doctoral degree.
Joe Thomas (Huntingdon)
Joe joined the General Fraternity staff in June 2017 as a Leadership Consultant. He graduated from Huntingdon College in May 2017 with a degree in accounting.
During his time in the Nu Beta Chapter, Joe served as Commander, Treasurer, and Recorder. Outside of Sigma Nu, Joe was an Ambassador for Huntingdon, orientation leader, Captain of the Student Alumni Association, Treasurer of the Drama Club, and a Resident Assistant.
Originally from Pinson, Alabama, Joe enjoys playing piano, meeting new people, and traveling. Following his time on staff, Joe plans to pursue a Masters in accounting and become a CPA.
Jesse Thomason (Texas Christian)
Jesse joined the General Fraternity staff in June 2017. He graduated in May 2017 from Texas Christian University with a degree in Acting.
During his time in the Lambda Epsilon Chapter, of which he is a Founding Father, Jesse served as the Campus Involvement Officer, Chapter Resident Assistant - for which he was named CRA of the Year, and as an Honor Board member. Outside of Sigma Nu, Jesse served as Vice President of Alpha Psi Omega, the theatre honor society, co-founder of an improvisational comedy troupe and Secretary of the Student Filmmakers' Association. Through the TCU Leadership Center, Jesse served as a facilitator for many of their programs catered to leadership development. Jesse also went on two Global Leadership Excursions to Victoria, British Columbia and Lima, Peru. Jesse was a nominee for the TCU Pillar of University Leadership Award.
Originally from Midland, Texas, Jesse enjoys writing, acting, playing guitar, traveling, and playing sports. Following his time on staff, Jesse plans to pursue a career in writing and performance.
