Oregon State
Designation: Delta Tau

Campus Snapshot: Oregon State University was established in 1868 in Corvallis, Oregon, as a land grant college. Since its founding, Oregon State University has steadily grown and now serves over 30,000 students, making it the largest university in the state. Over 17% of the undergraduate population participates in fraternity and sorority life at Oregon State University.
Delta Tau held its first initiation in 7 years, and its re-chartering ceremony in May of 2017. The newly chartered Chapter initiated 31 outstanding brothers into the Legion of Honor who had dedicated much of their college career to building a group that proudly represents Sigma Nu. This year Delta Tau also celebrated the milestone of 100 years at Oregon State University. On May 20th, 2017, Delta Tau held a banquet in Albany, Ore. to celebrate the significant achievement of chartering and to celebrate their centennial celebration. With many alumni, Regent Lee Perrett, and Sigma Nu Headquarters Staff in attendance, it was a once in a lifetime event for all those in attendance. The chapter was able to create even greater significance by having both the oldest living alumnus and the newest initiate from the Delta Tau Chapter present.
Illinois State

Campus Snapshot: Illinois State University campus is located in the city of Normal, Illinois, about sixty miles northeast of the state capital. Founded in 1857, it is the oldest public university in the state. Since its founding, Illinois State University has grown to over 20,000 students with nearly 11% of those students involved in fraternity and sorority life on campus.
In August members of the Headquarters staff joined the collegians, alumni, and parents of Theta Rho Chapter for their re-chartering ceremony in Normal, Ill. The Chapter, originally founded at Illinois State University in 1972, was recolonized in January 2016. On Saturday, August 26, 2017, Regent Lee Perrett presided over the Colony’s first initiation ceremony and welcomed a new class of 59 men into the Legion of Honor, including the 500th member of the Theta Rho Chapter. Numerous Theta Rho alumni attended the initiation ceremony, including two founding fathers, Joe Loss and Joe Lange. At the re-chartering banquet, held at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Normal, Ill., Regent Perrett congratulated the men on their success and gave them a charge for the future. The chapter would like to thank the alumni, parents, and University officials who helped them along the way.
East Carolina

Campus Snapshot: Originally founded in Greenville, North Carolina, in 1907 as a teacher training school, East Carolina University now boasts an impressive array of academic programs and twelve separate colleges and schools. With almost 29,000 students enrolled in those programs, East Carolina University is the third-largest university in the state. Of those nearly 29,000 students, over 10% are members of fraternity and sorority chapters on campus.
The Eta Beta Chapter recently celebrated their official return to East Carolina University. The chapter, originally founded at East Carolina University (then East Carolina College) in 1959, was recolonized in January of 2016. On Saturday, August 19, 2017, Regent Lee Perrett presided over the Colony’s first initiation ceremony and welcomed a new class of 49 men into the Legion of Honor. Numerous Eta Beta alumni attended the initiation ceremony, including Jack McCann, one of the founding fathers. At the re-chartering banquet, held at the Rock Springs Center in Greenville, NC, Regent Perrett commended the brothers on their hard work and congratulated them on their commitment to excellence. The chapter would like to thank the alumni, parents, and University officials who helped them along the way.
