Successful Spring for Sigma Nu Institutes
Updates from Lexington
This past spring saw another successful year for Sigma Nu Institutes, the Fraternity’s regional one-day officer development program. This program builds off the curriculum from College of Chapters and focuses on chapter officers such as Lt. Commander, Treasurer, Marshal, Chaplain, and Recruitment Chairman. The program runs through an afternoon of curriculum focusing on goal setting, visionary leadership, and three officer-specific breakout tracks. Each Institute also has an alumni-specific breakout track for Alumni Advisory Board members and Chapter Advisors. This spring, saw Sigma Nu Institutes at 14 different locations across the country with a total of 623 participants, the second-most participants in any year since its inception. In a testament to this program’s efficacy, participants reported statistically significant improvements in every area addressed by the curriculum. “I came in running my position blind. Now I know what is expected of me," said one participant of his experience. Another shared, "Very solid. I feel like all the behind the scenes things that the Executive Board does is clearer to me.”
