Fraternity Staff Update
Updates from Lexington
The Legion of Honor would like to honor the dedicated service and commitment of the following team members as they conclude their tenure of work for the General Fraternity.
Mark Gockowski (Kent State) served as the Leadership Consultant for the Midwest Region for the past two years and assisted the Fraternity’s expansion efforts at High Point University, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Tulsa. Mark will be transitioning to his new position with the Cleveland Indians in June, serving as a service excellence ambassador in the Ballpark Operations department. Mark will also be enrolled in the fall of 2017 at Cleveland State University as he pursues a msaster’s in Sports Management.
James House (UC Santa Barbara) served as the Leadership Consultant for the West Region for the 2015-2016 academic year and then served as the Leadership Consultant for the Northeast Region for the 2016-2017 academic year. James also assisted the Fraternity’s expansion efforts at Texas Christian University, San Diego State University, and Arizona State University. Following his time on staff, James will be embarking on a two-week cross-country drive and then an eight-week, 10-country trip throughout Eurpoe. He will enroll in law school.
Evan Winebarger (Georgia Southern) served as the Leadership Consultant for the Heartland Region for the past two years and assisted the Fraternity’s expansion efforts at Texas Christian University, Illinois State University, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Tulsa. Following his time on staff, Evan will be moving to Denver, Colorado, where he will be working with the Global Down Syndrome Foundation as a Senior Manager of Programs. Evan also plans to become involved as an alumni advisor for the Gamma Kappa Chapter (Colorado).
Alex Taylor (Huntingdon) served as the Director of Expansion and Recruitment for the past three years and, prior to that, served as a Leadership Consultant for two years. During his time with Sigma Nu, Alex worked on 15 different colony-related projects. As the Director of Expansion and Recruitment, he oversaw the chartering of eight chapters, a rise in average colony size, and a shorter time span from colony to chartering. He also adopted new methods to select campuses for future expansion projects. Following his time on staff, Alex will be joining the Innova Marketing team, a subsidiary of Phired Up Productions, as a Marketing Strategist and plans to remain a dedicated volunteer to the Legion of Honor in Virginia.
The Legion of Honor thanks these four brothers for playing crucial parts in executing the Fraternity’s mission through their tenure of service and wishes them well in their future endeavors. May the road rise up to meet them and may the wind always be at their backs.
