AFLV Central

From January 30 to February 2, Sigma Nu brothers across the country gathered in Indianapolis, Ind., for AFLV Central, one of the largest gatherings of fraternal stakeholders in the country. Each year, the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values hosts 2,300 participants from more than 150 campuses to experience programs and activities at all levels of the fraternity/sorority experience. Akron

February 20 was a great night for the Kappa Lambda Chapter. During the University of Akron’s 49th Annual Greek Leadership Awards, the chapter home significant hardware. The awards the chapter received were: Recognition in Standards of Excellence in the categories of Civic Responsibility, Chapter Operations, Health and Safety, Recruitment, and Member Development. The chapter was also recognized as the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award. Among the individual member awards were Michael Munar, who received the Thomas J. Vukovich Award, and Justin Peabody, who took home the Interfraternity Council’s Chapter President of the Year award.

During the first weekend of March, the Kappa Lambda Chapter celebrated its 41st Founders Day with a special banquet dinner for collegiate and alumni members and guests. The event was a great time for the collegiate members to connect with alumni and served as a reminder of the deep bonds that unite our brotherhood across generations.
Alabama

On February 19, Theta Chapter at the University of Alabama partnered with the Beta Mu Chapter of Alpha Phi and LifeSouth to host a blood drive, supporting local hospitals in need of life-saving donations.
Alabama in Huntsville

On January 20, the Mu Beta Chapter at the University of Alabama in Huntsville partnered with the Theta Pi Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega to help build beds for children in need with Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
Appalachian State

In early March, Kappa Epsilon Chapter at Appalachian State University hit the streets for their recurring cleanup of Green Street in Boone, N.C. Brother Jack Goodwin helped coordinate and organize the service opportunity for the chapter.
Arizona

In early March, the Epsilon Alpha Chapter at the University of Arizona had a unique opportunity to welcome a special alumnus guest to speak at a chapter meeting. Epsilon Pi Chapter (UCLA) alumnus and Arizona Football Head Coach, Brent Brennan, facilitated a LEAD Session for the chapter covering topics on leadership, chemistry, and team cohesiveness. Coach Brennen also spoke about his time as a collegiate member and his favorite memories from his time at UCLA.
Arizona State

Over the weekend of February 15, several brothers from the Zeta Upsilon Chapter at Arizona State University attended the Childhelp “Drive the Dream” Gala, with seats sponsored by alumnus Brother Bruce Lawson. Childhelp is one of the nation’s largest and oldest national nonprofit organizations dedicated to the treatment and prevention of child abuse and neglect. The Zeta Upsilon Chapter has been a long-term supporter of Childhelp and is aiming to raise $100,000 for the charity in 2025.

Sarasota Magazine, a regional magazine celebrating Sarasota, Florida, recently named Zeta Upsilon alumnus Chad Turnbull (far right in photo) to its 45 over 45. Coinciding with the magazine’s 45th anniversary, the list highlights individuals “who are doing amazing things to make [Sarasota] a better place.”
Atlanta Area Alumni

On Monday, January 27, 2025, Sigma Nu alumni who work at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta convened for the second annual Sigma Nu Caucus meeting. The event was organized by Brothers Billy Hickman (Georgia Southern) and Chris Green (Georgia) and hosted at a BBQ restaurant near the State Capitol. Auburn

On February 11, Beta Theta Chapter’s immediate past Commander Luke Thompson was recognized by the Auburn Interfraternity Council and Division of Student Affairs as Auburn's Chapter President of the Year. Luke is the son of chapter alumnus Dr. Warren Thompson, the grandson of alumnus Bill Thompson, and the brother of recent Beta Theta graduate Will Thompson. Under Luke's leadership, Beta Theta Chapter received another Rock Award, had a modern era record in retention to initiation, placed numerous brothers in leadership positions across campus, and was clearly recognized as a leader on Auburn's campus.

Beta Theta Chapter alumnus Larry Blakeney has been selected by the National Football Foundation as a 2025 inductee of the College Football Hall of Fame. Larry played for Coach Jordan while Shug's son, Ralph Jordan, Jr., was in the chapter with him, and Larry was Coach Jordan's first sophomore starting quarterback. Brother Blakeney coached at Auburn from 1977 to 1990 before he became Head Football Coach at Troy University, where he compiled a 178-113-1 record over 24 seasons and led Troy to many unprecedented accomplishments, including conference championships, bowl games, and leading Troy to a higher-level NCAA playing division. Ball State

On February 8, Theta Nu Chapter at Ball State University teamed up with the Zeta Kappa Chapter of Kappa Delta for BSU’s 2025 Dance Marathon. Together, the chapters won the Team Wars competition and raised $630 for the Riley Hospital for Children, a local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
Bowling Green State

Congratulations to Epsilon Chi Chapter brothers and now national champions Kris Day, Zach Hagedorn, Bryce Long, Luke Mosier, and Matt Stock. The men are a part of the Bowling Green State University coed cheerleading team that competed at the 2025 UCA College Nationals this past weekend at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Together, the team was crowned champions of Small Coed Division IA.
Bradley

On January 25, the brothers of the Zeta Phi Chapter at Bradley University presented a check to OSF Children’s Hospital-Almost Home Kids for $20,800 during the Bradley vs Illinois State basketball game. The money was raised through the chapter’s annual Gameball Run fundraiser.
Cal Poly Pomona

Recruitment week for the Kappa Gamma Colony at Cal Poly Pomona culminated in the semesterly Preference Dinner on February 8, an event designed to strengthen alumni relations and introduce prospective members to the Fraternity. This semester’s dinner was particularly significant as it marked the reintroduction of the ΠΣΧ-ΣΝ Legacy Scholarship, awarded for the first time since 2016 to recognize outstanding members for their leadership and contributions to the colony. With 25 attendees, including active members, prospective members, and notable alumni such as Steve Yoss, Eric Tom, Al Quiming, Jordan Wu, Carlo St. Juste, and Robert Decraene, the event highlighted the fraternity’s commitment to mentorship and tradition. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

On February 16, brothers from the Kappa Pi Chapter at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo gathered with friends and community members for the chapter’s 10th annual Ducky Derby. During the event, participants had the opportunity to purchase a duck and enter a race down the San Luis Obispo Creek. The first nine ducks to cross the finish line earned their owners one of several prizes, including San Francisco 49ers tickets and wireless headphones. Over the past decade, proceeds from the Ducky Derby have supported Jack’s Helping Hand, a nonprofit providing assistance and programs for local kids with cancer or special needs. This year’s event is expected to surpass $28,000 in money raised. The chapter has raised over $100,000 for Jack’s Helping Hand over the last 10 years.
Cal State LA

During the month of March, the Eta Phi Chapter at Cal State LA has kept itself busy tackling food insecurity. The brothers have helped volunteer with the LA Food Bank, sorting and processing over 130,000 lbs. of produce. The men also partnered with the Cal State LA Cheer team to help package burritos with The Burrito Project. The burritos were passed out to feed the homeless community in downtown LA.
Central Arkansas

On March 8, brothers of the Lambda Phi Chapter volunteered during the University of Central Arkansas’ Big Event. The Big Event at UCA is a time when University of Central Arkansas students, staff, and faculty members unite in a campus-wide service effort for the local community. The chapter members extended the helping hand, completing a number of projects and making a big impact on the Conway, Ark., community.
Charleston

Brothers from the Iota Rho Chapter at the College of Charleston got into the Valentine’s Day spirit with a special event raising money, awareness, and support for the Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary.
Colorado

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the brothers of the Gamma Kappa Chapter at the University of Colorado Boulder spent time making bouquets of flowers and writing Valentine’s Day cards for senior citizens in the Boulder community.
Cornell

This past December, alumni from the Gamma Theta Chapter at Cornell University gathered in New York City for the chapter's annual holiday dinner. About 50 alumni attended, spanning several decades of brothers, including members of the class of '24, with the strongest showing by the classes of the early '90s. This event has been conducted for decades, has had different names over time, and is always a festive way to end the year and celebrate relationships, new and old. Many thanks to Brother Jack Gonzalez, as his family has hosted this event at their restaurant, Trattoria Trecolori, in New York's theatre district for many years.
Delaware

In mid-March, Delta Kappa Colony members at the University of Delaware volunteered their time to serve the Newark community. Following a St. Patrick’s Day celebration, the men conducted a street cleanup on Choate Street to support a Newark city-wide cleanup effort after the weekend’s festivities. Later in the week, the members gathered at the St. Thomas Oratory to prepare PB&J sandwiches for those in need in the area.
Drury

The Epsilon Beta Chapter at Drury University has been participating in the annual Springfield Chili Cook-Off as a part of our philanthropy for more than 20+ years. While the chapter did not win any awards this year, its entries received numerous fan favorite votes.
East Carolina

At the end of February, the Eta Beta Chapter at East Carolina University hosted its 5th Annual Golf Tournament at the Belmont Lake Country Club. This year’s tournament saw over 100 brothers and friends and friends of the chapter attend, including many alumni from the '70s and '80s. Proceeds from the tournament, raised through participation and hole sponsorships, benefited the Children’s Oncology Group, the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research. The chapter was proud to hit a new high for tournament registrants and hopes to continue seeing increasing participation for next year’s event.
Eastern Kentucky

On March 7, the Theta Theta Chapter at Eastern Kentucky University partnered with the Eta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. for the inaugural Nupes & Nus Talent Show. Through the show, the chapters were able to raise $315 for Hope’s Wings Women’s and Children’s Sanctuary.
Eastern Washington

In early February, the Theta Lambda Chapter at Eastern Washington University volunteered with Second Harvest INW to provide free food on the EWU campus through the organization’s mobile market.
Furman

On Saturday, February 8th, the Kappa Chi Chapter at Furman University went to Bald Rock Heritage Preserve to assist the Friends of Bald Rock in maintaining the beautiful preserve by trailblazing and picking up 580 pounds of trash. The chapter has been assisting the Friends of Bald Rock once a semester since Fall 2023. The chapter volunteered in various roles depending on the needs of the preserve, including trash pickup, trailblazing, covering graffiti, and erosion preventative measures.
Georgia

On January 30th, the Mu Chapter at the University hosted their annual Commander's Dinner at Bones Steakhouse in Atlanta. Dozens of former alumni and current Commander Will Pierotti joined for a great meal and even better conversation, reliving their college days and discussing the best ways to improve upon the Mu Chapter. With a range of brother graduation years from the sixties to 2026, the dinner serves as a great way to reflect on the chapter's past and look ahead towards its future.

The latest episode of The Gavel Podcast features business leader, author, and Mu Chapter alumnus Steve Garraty. During the interview, Steve talks about his battle with cancer during his teenage years and the lessons he learned from that experience that set him on a more positive and productive path. Steve’s experiences are chronicled in a newly released book, "Greatfruit: How Cancer Led to Living a More Fruitful Life." Georgia Southern

On Saturday, January 18th, Theta Kappa Chapter at Georgia Southern University celebrated its 11th Commanders’ Dinner. The event, held at the Capital Grille in Atlanta, honored past and current chapter Commanders and celebrated the achievements of the collegiate chapter and alumni. A highlight of the event was the swearing-in of the newly elected Theta Kappa Chapter Commander, Mac Broome. The Commander’s Dinner saw nearly 30 attendees, including 15 Commanders from the chapter and special guests Regent Maury Gaston (Auburn), Vice Regent Michael Barry (Georgia), Division Commander Jason Dooley (Kennesaw State), and General Fraternity Staff Member Mac McNeilly (Huntingdon).

Congratulations and Hi Rickety to Theta Kappa Chapter alumnus Billy Hickman, who was recently named a recipient of Georgia Southern University Parker College of Business’ Distinguished Service Award. In announcing the award, the university had this to say about Brother Hickman’s achievement: “The Distinguished Service Award is the highest honor conferred by Parker College, celebrating alumni who embody the aspirations, achievements, and impact of the college. Recipients have demonstrated exceptional support for Parker College throughout their lifetime, excelling as leaders in their professions and communities. Billy Hickman, a CPA and Georgia State Senator, has spent decades supporting Georgia Southern University. In his distinguished accounting career, he led the growth of a robust forensic practice at Dabbs, Hickman, Hill & Cannon, LLP, becoming a nationally recognized expert in fraud prevention and detection, and has provided expert testimony in numerous high-profile cases. His dedication to community service and professional excellence makes him a worthy recipient of this honor.”

Theta Kappa Chapter had its inaugural “Road to Rock,” a fall pilgrimage to Lexington, the weekend of Nov. 8-10. The program is modeled after the Epsilon Epsilon Chapter pilgrimage with a twist. Theta Kappa pays for the trip with funds from Sigma Nu Educational Foundation that are earmarked for Theta Kappa Chapter development with a 75/25 split, so the chapter picks up part of the cost. For this trip, 25 collegiate members and two alumni traveled to Lexington. The trip was originally planned for late September but postponed to later in the fall due to Hurricane Helene. The opportunity came with the unique opportunity to share lodging at the new Spears Family Epsilon Epsilon Center for Excellence with brothers from the Zeta Sigma Chapter at Gettysburg College. The weekend was packed with events, including team building, tours of the HQs & VMI, lunch at the VMI dining facility with cadets, four LEAD sessions, a recruitment workshop, and CommunityEdu on the bus on the way.
Georgia State

The Eta Gamma Alumni Chapter held it’s 3rd Annual Eta Gamma Chapter Commanders Dinner on January 28, 2025 at McKendrick's Steak House in Atlanta. The event has grown to 24 brothers attending, including past Commanders, Alumni Advisory Board members, and chapter Hall of Honor members. Guests who attended the dinner included James Owens (Charleston) from the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation, along with Division Commanders Jason Dooley and Bill Geddy. The oldest Commander Emeritus/brother attending was Bob Massey, a 1964 graduate of Georgia State.
Georgia Tech

On February 27th, the Gamma Alpha Chapter at Georgia Tech hosted the Sigma Nu Secondhand Vintage Market, with Brother Sam Beagle being the main orchestrator of the event. This is the third year in a row the Gamma Alpha chapter has organized the event and the second time it has been on Tech Green, Georgia Tech's central greenspace. Over 600 students came to the event, with 20 brothers helping Sam run it throughout the day. The event benefits the chapter's philanthropy, the Andrew Collins Project, through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. One of the chapter's goals for this semester is to raise over $25,000 for the AFSP. This event is one of the major steps towards that goal. In April, the chapter will sponsor the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk for the AFSP and hopefully surpass the goal.
Gettysburg

On March 14-15, 100 Zeta Sigma Chapter alumni and collegians came together to celebrate 55 years at their chapter home at 55 West Broadway and reconnect with brothers. This capped off an intense year of capital renovations and revitalization of the collegiate chapter. Highlights included a Friday afternoon battlefield tour led by Brother Aaron Heft, a Saturday afternoon Open House, and dinner on campus at the college's Atrium event center with special guest Regent Maury Gaston (Auburn). During Regent Gaston’s remarks, he congratulated the chapter and alumni for their dedication to Sigma Nu and talked of the timeless values of The Legion of Honor and the fraternity experience. He further challenged the chapter to continue driving forward toward excellence and to get more involved in promoting both Sigma Nu and Greek life at Gettysburg College.
Houston

For the second year in a row, the Zeta Chi Chapter at the University of Houston was honored to be the only IFC Fraternity to receive the Archegos Award for Chapter Excellence, an award demonstrating outstanding achievement and excellence in 5/5 value areas: Leadership Development, Service & Citizenship, Meaningful Relationships, Ritual & Values, and Intellectual Development.
Huntingdon

On February 17, the brothers of the Nu Beta Chapter at Huntingdon College partnered with NMDP (formerly known as the National Marrow Donor Program and Be The Match). The brothers helped collect more than 40 registrations, which will help connect potential lifesaving donors with individuals in need of blood stem cell transplants.
Illinois

Yesterday, brothers from the Gamma Mu Chapter at the University of Illinois participated in a mindfulness and positive affirmations workshop with the students & parents of Leal Elementary School in Urbana, Ill. The brothers enjoyed the opportunity to work with the school and serve as mentors and role models for the kids.
Illinois State

On February 8, brothers from the Theta Rho Chapter at Illinois State University spent their time visiting with the residents at Mercy Creek Retirement Home. The men enjoyed a day of games and great conversations with their new friends.

The Theta Rho showed out big once again at the Illinois State Greek Gala, bringing home 8 awards! The awards included: Excellence in Academics, Council Exec Member of the Year - Jake Wagner, Commitment to Philanthropy, Innovative Program of the Year – SNUFest, Outstanding Collaboration - Tri Delt x Sig Nu, Fraternity Member of the Year - Jake Wagner, Emerging Leader - Ryan Wagner, and the Chapter Excellence Cup (2nd consecutive year).
Iowa State

Welcome home, Gamma Sigma! The effort to bring the Gamma Sigma Chapter charter back to Iowa State University has hit another milestone, with our men securing their home for the future. The members will have the next couple of months to deck the house out in black, white, and gold…and cardinal before they officially move in this fall.
Jacksonville

With assistance from Philanthropy Chairman CJ Clark, the Kappa Theta Chapter at Jacksonville University helped volunteer during DONNA Marathon Weekend in Jacksonville, Fla. The annual marathon helps raise money for breast cancer awareness, treatment, and prevention.
Jacksonville State

Every Tuesday, Brothers from the Iota Lambda Chapter at Jacksonville State volunteer at Rockin P Rescue, an animal shelter in Jacksonville, Ala. While volunteering, the brothers help clean kennels, walk the dogs, and ensure the animals are well taken care of as they await adoption.

Congratulations to Iota Lambda Brother Jabari Thomas. In mid-February, he competed at the Cheersport National All Star Cheerleading Championship with his team, the Ace Warriors. He and his team won first place out of their division (Senior Level 5 Small Co Ed), making him a National Champion.
Jefferson

On January 18, the Mu Pi Chapter at Thomas Jefferson University celebrated past Commanders Dave Zaveloff and Tyler Bartman during the annual Commander’s Brunch event. During the event, the chapter welcomed special alumni guests, including chapter founding fathers Sean Flanagan and Todd Corless, and Division Commander Sean Killion.

Over the weekend of February 1, the Mu Pi Chapter attended the Special Olympics Polar Plunge at Lincoln Financial Field. Twenty brothers took the leap of faith into the ice-cold water. In total, the chapter raised over $1,500 in donations for the charity.
Kansas

Over the weekend of January 18, the Nu Chapter at the University of Kansas brought their 2024 candidate class to the Fraternity’s headquarters in Lexington, Va. The chapter traveled just under 1,000 miles (2,000 round trip) from Lawrence, Kan., for the pilgrimage. During the visit, the chapter’s candidates were able to learn about Sigma Nu’s rich history, participate in LEAD sessions, and tour the campus of VMI, where Sigma Nu was founded.
Kennesaw State

In January, the Iota Pi Chapter hosted its 2nd Annual Commanders Dinner. Commanders of the Iota Pi family past and present gathered at Mac’s Chop House in Marietta, Ga., to talk about the future of the chapter and to celebrate the years of brotherhood and leadership.
Kettering

In early March, brothers and candidates from the Eta Mu (A) Chapter at Kettering University volunteered their time to pick up litter and trash around the Kettering Campus and the surrounding area in Flint, Mich.
Knox

As of this past summer, the Delta Theta Chapter at Knox College has a new home: 516 S. West Street. After almost two years of negotiation with the college, the Delta Theta House Corporation entered into a new lease agreement through June 2030, which would move the Delta Theta Chapter into its new location. Said Delta Theta alumnus Brother Eric Langston, who has headed up negotiations with Knox College since 2009, “Securing the lease for 516 S West Street provides the chapter with a house it can be proud of. The chapter will finally have a facility that will bolster its efforts.” In 1965, Delta Theta moved into 151 S. West Street, where it remained until the early 2000s. Due to structural issues in the house, the Chapter moved into its most recent house at 556 S West Street in 2005.

After winning an International Emmy Award for Best Comedy Series for his Netflix comedy special titled ‘Landing’ in 2023, Delta Theta Chapter Alum Vir Das hosted the 2024 International Emmy Awards in New York City on November 25th. Notably, Vir Das is the first Indian to host the International Emmy Awards.
Louisiana State

Congratulations and Hi Rickety to Brothers Jackson Gordon (Southern Methodist) and Toby Trowbridge (Louisiana State), who were recognized by the North American Interfraternity Conference as 2024 recipients of their Outstanding IFC President Award. The Outstanding IFC President Award recognizes IFC Presidents whose leadership has been a driving force for growth, positive change, and interfraternalism on their campus.

Phi Chapter alumnus Brandon Beach has been appointed as the new Treasurer of the United States. As Treasurer, Brother Beach will oversee the U.S. Mint, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and Fort Knox gold storage, and work closely with the Federal Reserve. Prior to his appointment, Beach served Georgia’s 21st District as a State Senator.
Louisiana Tech

In mid-February, the Eta Zeta Chapter at Louisiana Tech was visited by Colonel Judd Mahfouz. During his time with the chapter, he shared insights on navigating the challenges of college, preparing for life beyond, and his experiences in combat. Colonel Mahfouz began his career in 1988, retiring in February 2022 with 34 years of service. He served in a variety of tactical, operational, and strategic positions, culminating in his assignment to the Pentagon as a strategist for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a position he held for over ten years. He’s a graduate of Louisiana Tech (BA ‘93, M.Ed. ‘95) and Missouri State Universities (MS, 2020), the US Army War College, the US Air Force Air War College, National Defense University, and is a fellow of international relations at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He’s deployed to combat multiple times, including tours of duty in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His awards and decorations include the Joint Meritorious Service, six Army Meritorious Service Medals, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Parachutist’s Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the German Army Parachutist Badge. He’s currently employed as a Civilian policy and strategy analyst for the Department of Defense and serves on the MIT alumni board and the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School Board of Advisors. He currently resides in Avoyelles Parish, LA, where he works part-time in his family’s cattle business.
Miami (Ohio)

The Legion of Honor is back on campus at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Over the weekend of February 22, the effort to restore the Fraternity’s Epsilon Nu Chapter hit its first major milestone with the pinning of the newest class of candidates. 21 men accepted the invitation to begin their fraternal journeys with the Legion of Honor. Six Epsilon Nu alumni were also present for the ceremony, including Chapter Advisor Brian Hiles, Faculty Advisor Brian Bensman, House Corporation Officer Bob Long, and Mike Turnball. The candidates will continue to work with these alumni and General Fraternity staff, including Expansion Consultant Chaysen Babcock (Northern Arizona), as the group builds a solid operational foundation and positions itself to submit a petition to charter.

In early March, the Fraternity took a break from the Miami University campus to bring members working to restore the Epsilon Nu Chapter to a new setting, the Fraternity’s headquarters in Lexington, Va. During the pilgrimage to The Rock, the men were treated to tours of the headquarters' museum and grounds, Washington and Lee University, and VMI, and they received facilitated LEAD Sessions from Executive Director Brad Beacham (Texas Christian) and Expansion Consultants Chaysen Babcock (Northern Arizona) and Noah Frank (Purdue). The men also had the chance to meet and connect with Lambda’s (Washington & Lee) Commander and Lt. Commander, Tyler Bush and Nat Bersett. The members capped off the pilgrimage with the opportunity to hold a ceremony for the first time in the Alpha Room, creating a once-in-a-lifetime memory for the group.
Michigan

On February 13, the Gamma Nu Chapter at the University of Michigan hosted its annual Winterfest philanthropy, a 6 vs. 6 broomball tournament. Proceeds from Winterfest 2025 benefit the Autism Alliance of Michigan, the Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan, and Fisher House Michigan. The chapter set a new event record in fundraising, with $274,227 raised for the charities. This is an increase of over $45,000 from the previous year, with donations coming in from over 3,267 donors. The Fraternity was delighted to welcome Gamma Nu alumnus Brother Dave Trott to the Rock for a visit and tour. The Honorable Brother Trott served our nation and his home state of Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2015 to 2019. Brother Trott visited Lexington as part of a civic education program at Washington and Lee University. We thank him for his leadership for our country.
Minnesota State

During Spring Break, several brothers from the Lambda Delta Chapter at Minnesota State University kept themselves busy in service. Activities included several brothers volunteering at the YMCA in Mankato, Minn., helping out with their carnival event. Additionally, Brother DaVonte McClam spent his spring break volunteering in Kansas City, creating gardening beds and making pizza for the Ronald McDonald Foundation's disabled families.

Mississippi

Epsilon Xi Chapter Brothers Tucker Sala (right) and Boyd Driggers (left) took home awards during the University of Mississippi’s FSL Awards in February. Brother Sala was named President of the Year, and Brother Driggers took home the Change Agent Award.
Missouri

In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the Rho Chapter at the University of Missouri hosted an inaugural “Ginger Run” in Columbia, Mo. What started out as a joke between friends in the chapter quickly became a reality when over 300 people from the university and community expressed interest in participating. The Captains Quarters Hair Salon sponsored three prizes, with first place receiving a certificate for One Year of Free Haircuts. Second place won Six Months of Free Haircuts and third place received One Free Haircut. The USTF Veterans Foundation also provided medals to the top 20 runners and for any additional awards at Willie's.
Missouri S&T

In 1908, a tradition was born at Missouri University of Science and Technology: the annual St. Pat’s celebration. Each year, the celebration becomes the Best Ever through the continued efforts of the students and faculty of Missouri S&T, the city of Rolla, St. Pat’s Board, and its associates. The Gamma Xi Chapter had an incredible 2025 St. Pats, taking home the Overall Winner title. Another notable achievement was earned by Brother Nolan Hance, who was named 1st Masterguard.

It is worth noting that the chapter’s achievements during St. Pat’s follow its efforts in service. After an EF-2 tornado tore through Rolla on the Friday of the St. Pat’s festivities, leaving an 8.67-mile path of destruction with winds up to 120 mph, the brothers worked tirelessly to help the community recover. For several days, the men cleared debris, assisting with cleanup efforts and supporting those in need.

On January 23, St. Louis Thirsty Thursday was held on the 122nd anniversary of the Gamma Xi Chapter at Third Wheel Brewing in St. Peters, Mo. The event follows a frequent event hosted by Gamma Xi Alumni in the St. Louis area where they come together bi-monthly for Thirsty Thursday at a St. Louis area microbrewery. Missouri State

On March 10, brothers from the Theta Sigma Chapter at Missouri State University volunteered with the Ozarks Food Harvest, the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri that serves 270 hunger-relief organizations across 28 Ozarks counties. During the brothers’ volunteer service, the men packed 11,047 lbs. of food, which will feed over 9,000 people.
Montana State

On March 11, the Zeta Nu Chapter at Montana State University hosted Shodair Fest, a benefit concert raising funds for Shodair Children’s Hospital in Helena, Montana. The concert featured bands Colour Blind, Bottle Cap, and Fritz Road and raised over $2,000 for the hospital.
Mount Union

In early March, the Beta Iota Chapter at the University of Mount Union received word that an alumnus and his 13-year-old son were both having serious medical issues, as each of them had a stroke. Very quickly, along with help from the Mount Union chapter of Alpha Xi Delta, the chapter was able to host a Nug Night fundraiser for the family. In total, the chapter was able to send a donation of $625. A great example of extending the helping hand when brothers are in need.
New Hampshire

Congratulations and Hi Rickety to the Iota Sigma Chapter at the University of New Hampshire, which reached an impressive milestone. In December, the chapter celebrated the initiation of their 1,000th brother. Surrounded by collegiate brothers and alumni, Dylan Detch was initiated as Iota Sigma #1,000 alongside fellow candidates, now knights, Owen Souza and Chase Hogan. The Iota Sigma Chapter was chartered on April 16, 1977.

Over the weekend of March 8, Iota Sigma Chapter brothers volunteered at the New Hampshire Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The brothers helped tend to the grounds, clean equipment, and even got the opportunity to say hi to some of the animals that the NHSPCA takes such excellent care of.
North Carolina State

In mid-February, brothers from the Beta Tau Chapter at North Carolina State University volunteered with the Urban Ministries of Wake County’s food pantry. The men helped prepare and serve food to families in need. Urban Ministries provides help and opportunities to those who are struggling with hunger, healthcare, and homelessness.
North Texas

We love to see interfraternal team-ups for service. On March 3, the Zeta Omicron Chapter at the University of North Texas partnered with the UNT Chapter of Delta Sigma Phi for a campus clean-up service activity.

Over the weekend of March 1, the Zeta Omicron Alumni Chapter raised over $20,000 at its second annual casino night. The event brought out alumni, collegiate brothers, and guests for the special event.
Northern Arizona

The Eta Iota Chapter at Northern Arizona University volunteered at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff, Ariz., during their annual Bowlathon fundraiser!

Hi Rickety, and congratulations to Brother Collin Steuart. On February 4, the Eta Iota Chapter announced that Collin had officially beaten Leukemia.
Northern Illinois

On February 22, 2025, leaders and alumni of Theta Eta Chapter at Northern Illinois University gathered for the chapter’s annual Sigma Nu Commanders’ Dinner. The brothers enjoyed the opportunity to network and continue to build upon the legacy of leadership and excellence.
Oklahoma

On March 6, the Delta Epsilon Chapter at the University of Oklahoma took home some awards and recognition during OU’s annual IFC Awards. The chapter received the Gold Standard of Excellence and Delta Epsilon’s Chapter Advisor, Mark Robbins, won Advisor of the Year.
Old Dominion

58 years strong! The Eta Chi Chapter at Old Dominion University celebrated its 58th Founder’s Day back at the members’ favorite spot — Murphy’s Irish Pub at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Originally scheduled for February, the snow forced the chapter to reschedule a month later. The event was a huge success, with alumni from badge numbers in the single digits to the 1000s coming together to share memories, reconnect, and enjoy a great night. The chapter was also very thankful to raise approximately $1,000 in part from the support of alumni.
Oregon State

The Fraternity’s LEAD Program isn’t just for leadership development. Sessions available through All-Chapter LEAD provide helpful and practical education for your members on topics like stress management, etiquette, and fire safety. The Delta Tau Chapter at Oregon State University used LEAD to teach members of the chapter about how to handle fires inside the chapter home. The session was facilitated by alumnus Steve Mawdsley and firefighters from the Corvallis Fire Department. Brothers even had the opportunity for hands-on instruction as they practiced extinguishing controlled fires.
Purdue

In February, brothers from the Beta Zeta Chapter at Purdue University braved a cold plunge for charity. The men participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge, raising $3,640 for Special Olympics Indiana. This brings their total raised for the semester to $9,286.

The Purdue Grand Prix, Purdue University's annual go-kart race, will have an extra special feature this year with the help of Beta Zeta Chapter alumnus and Sigma Nu Vice Regent Al Wurster. The Purdue Grand Prix is a beloved tradition at the university, known as "the Greatest Spectacle in College Racing." Brother Wurster helped spearhead an initiative to bring a row of original bricks from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home to the Indy 500, to the Purdue Grand Prix track, creating a powerful new link between the two racetracks. Rose-Hulman

Over the weekend of January 25, brothers from the Beta Upsilon Chapter at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology competed in their second indoor track meet. Karson Jank (left) earned a personal best of 35’ 1.75 “ in the shot put. Will Witalis (right) had two personal bests of 34’ 10.25” in the shot put and 34’ 11.75” in the weight throw.
Sewanee

In February, the Beta Omicron Chapter at Sewanee: The University of the South led a service event with Faculty Advisor and Beta Omicron alumnus Marcus Murphy. The men helped clean up the local Sewanee community center playground. 25 members of the chapter and Chapter Advisor Phil Woodlief participated in the project. Service and Philanthropy Chairman Luka Stojkovich and Treasurer Will Kennedy obtained the materials for building new flower beds at the center.
South Carolina

In March, the Delta Chapter at the University of South Carolina raised over $2,000 for the Fisher House Foundation in Columbia, S.C. The foundation provides lodging to military and veteran families at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment. The brothers used the money raised to purchase needed supplies for the foundation.
Southeast Missouri State

Mu Kappa Chapter alumnus Brother Jason Steiner has landed a dream job with the Los Angeles Dodgers, recently joining the MLB team in player development. In an alumni profile, Southeast Missouri State University highlighted Jason’s journey in college, including the leadership skills he developed as a Commander of the Mu Kappa Chapter.
Southern Methodist

Congratulations and Hi Rickety to Brothers Jackson Gordon (Southern Methodist) and Toby Trowbridge (Louisiana State), who were recognized by the North American Interfraternity Conference as 2024 recipients of their Outstanding IFC President Award. The Outstanding IFC President Award recognizes IFC Presidents whose leadership has been a driving force for growth, positive change, and interfraternalism on their campus.
Stetson

Former Commander, now current Candidate Marshall and House Manager, Ramon Patton (first row, center) recently competed in the UCA College National Championships, in which the Stetson Cheer Team made history by being the first team in the school’s history to qualify for finals in the D1 Small-Coed Game Day Division. The team also placed 4th in the University World Cup Championships.
Stevens

In mid-February, the brothers visited the United Nations to watch Brother Zain El-Hashemite deliver a speech at the International Day of Women and Girls in Science Assembly.
UC Irvine

In early March, the brothers of the Lambda Omicron Chapter at UC Irvine held their annual philanthropy, Slaterball. In honor of late alumnus Gerald Slater, the chapter raises funds and awareness in the fight against cancer, supporting the American Cancer Society.
UC San Diego

In late February, the Kappa Rho Chapter at the UC San Diego hosted a carwash philanthropy. The chapter raised over $1,800 and donated over 100 different clothing items to help support LA Wildfire Relief.
UCLA

Brothers from the Epsilon Pi Chapter at UCLA ended a busy quarter of philanthropy with an awesome showing at the LA Marathon. The men ran and raised over $4,000 for Angel City Pit Bulls, a Los Angeles-based 501c3 dedicated to creating a better future for pit bulls through education, public advocacy, adoptions, and owner support.
UNC Asheville

In late February, brothers from the Mu Eta Chapter at UNC Asheville spent time at the Roots Garden volunteering with the UNCA Student Environmental Center Gardens.
Virginia Wesleyan

Over the weekend of March 8, brothers from the Iota Beta Chapter at Virginia Wesleyan University took a pilgrimage to the Fraternity’s headquarters in Lexington, Va. While the men were in town, they got the opportunity to enjoy tours of VMI and Sigma Nu’s museums and headquarters’ grounds. The brothers were joined on the trip by Iota Beta alumni Kenneth Henry and Kyle Grabulis.
Washington & Lee

Lambda is back on campus at Washington and Lee University with five new candidates joining the effort to restore one of the Legion of Honor’s most historic chapters. On January 11, General Fraternity staff and Lambda Chapter alumni Ross Paterson, Paul Riley, Hank Mayer, Tyler Wenger, and Will Powell led the men through the pinning ceremony at the Fraternity’s headquarters. Following the ceremony, the newly made candidates participated in their first meeting, where they discussed plans for the semester and participated in their first sessions of LEAD Phase I. Washington State

The Delta Iota Chapter at Washington State University won the Best Philanthropy Arete Award at WSU’s 2024 Arete Awards, recognizing the chapter’s impact among 24 fraternities. The achievement is in part a testimony to the effort of chapter Philanthropy Chairmen, Rasi McCarter & Dylan Long, who worked tirelessly to organize events throughout the year, raising $5,000 for charitable causes. In addition to the chapter award, the chapter also had a member who earned an individual achievement. Brother Michael Aksdal (far right) brought home the Scholar of the Year Award, one of the highest academic honors in Greek Life. With a 4.0 GPA in Construction Engineering, leadership in ASC, DBIA, and ASCE, and two years as chapter treasurer, Michael embodies what it means to be a Sigma Nu.
Western Kentucky

The Eta Rho Chapter at Western Kentucky University would like to congratulate Christian Reisner on an impressive scholarship reward. In January, Christian was awarded a $20,000 scholarship from the Housing Authority of Mayfield.
Wyoming

This spring, the Epsilon Delta Chapter at the University of Wyoming reached an impressive milestone with the initiation of its 2000th member. Brother Dylan Sheratt was pinned ΕΔ #2000, with the chapter hosting a brotherhood pizza night to celebrate.
