Chapter Pilgrimages
Each year, the Fraternity is proud to welcome over 600 collegiate members who make a pilgrimage to The Rock to visit the site of the founding of the Legion of Honor. For chapters interested in making an overnight journey to Lexington, Va., the Fraternity provides onsite accommodation, which can be reserved for chapter use. The Spears Family Epsilon Epsilon Center for Excellence is a state-of-the-art lodging facility offering space for up to 84 members. It is available at a flat, going rate of $50.00 per man (per trip).
Chapters that make a pilgrimage to Lexington are paired with a staff liaison who will assist the chapter with tours of the Fraternity’s headquarters, tours of VMI and Washington & Lee University, LEAD facilitation, use of the Alpha Room for candidate and initiate ceremonies or chapter meetings, and other activities while the chapter is in town. For many, the opportunity to travel to Lexington to see the headquarters and the site of our founding can be a profound and moving experience. We encourage you to consider the Center in your plans for a candidate or chapter retreat this year.
Interested in making a pilgrimage to Lexington with your chapter? Reserve your stay at the Center for Excellence today by contacting Pilgrimages Coordinator Michael Lay at michael.lay@sigmanu.org. Chapters interested in day trips or traveling to Lexington without using the Center for Excellence should also inform the Fraternity of your plans so a staff liaison can be prepared for your visit.
