Statement Regarding Matter At Texas State University

Lexington, Va. - Sigma Nu Fraternity is aware of reports regarding alleged criminal activity of students at Texas State University, some of whom are affiliated with the Sigma Nu Fraternity chapter at Texas State University. The Fraternity is concerned by these reports and will continue to work closely with Texas State University officials to investigate these allegations.
“Sigma Nu Fraternity is a values-based organization that was founded in opposition to hazing and is dedicated to its mission of developing ethical leaders for society. The Fraternity responds appropriately to incidents of misconduct by individual members or collegiate chapters. Once the investigation of these allegations is complete, the Fraternity will respond accordingly, in consultation and partnership with Texas State University officials,” said Brad Beacham, Executive Director.
Headquartered in Lexington, Va., Sigma Nu Fraternity was founded in 1869 at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington and currently has 177 active chapters and colonies on college campuses throughout North America.
