Lexington, Va. – Sigma Nu Fraternity joins the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) in supporting Sigma Alpha Epsilon for taking swift action regarding its University of Oklahoma chapter. We also support the University of Oklahoma’s decision to sever ties with the local chapter.

The reprehensible behavior depicted in the video was a stark reminder that our communities and nation still have work to do to eliminate racism. We must not let this despicable act deter us from supporting those engaged in this vital work, which includes members of the fraternity and sorority community.

We will continue to work with our chapters and collegiate members, our alumni members, and our host institution partners in achieving a fraternity experience that keeps with our mission to develop ethical leaders for society. And we will take appropriate action against those who fail to uphold our Fraternity’s principles.
